Name: Melissa James
Writes: Harlequin Romance, Suspenseful Historical Mainstream
Call sign: (ie nickname) Um, haven't had one since called "Freckle Bum Junior" in high school. :) Friends call me Lis.
Current mood: Excited! Going on holiday tomorrow. Can't wait.
Reading: "The Terror Before Trafalgar" by Tom Pocock - a bio on the life of Lord Nelson, and the times in England and France just before the outbreak of war in 1803. It is research! Also reading "Lucia: A Venetian Life in Napoleonic Times" by Andrea di Robilant. More research!
Inspiration: Sharon Penman, Elizabeth Chadwick, JRR Tolkien, Nigel Tranter
Web hang outs: Only historical research places! I'm a technophobe and not really into blogs and stuff. We do download shows like Fringe though - where we live it's always 2 years behind.
Favourite food when writing: Duh...chocolate!!! Peppermint tea is always good too.
Music listening to: "The Romantic Violin" by Joshua Bell
Watching: "The Little Dictator" with Charlie Chaplin (really!). I also love Fringe, NCIS, CSI...
Working on: "Dark Waltz" - mainstream historical suspense set in 1803
May release
