Romance of Australia conference

Around this time of the year, romance writers around Australia and New Zealand start to think about going to the Romance of Australia's national conference held in August. It's the highlight of the year.

We are no different.  'Hot August Nights' is to be held in Brisbane from the 14th to the 16th of August. And we are all trying to get there. It would be wonderful if we could all be at the same place at the same time.

Well if that doesn't happen, we always have cyberspace.

You can check out the information on the website.

So here's hoping we see you in August at the Conference. May the writing fairy godmothers bless us. :)

Awaiting to read in 2009

One of the books I'm looking forward to being released in 2009 is Catherine Asaro's "Diamond Star". It's the next book in her Skolian Empire series (about an interstellar Empire who's ruling body are telepaths and who's enemy are 'anti-telepaths' who enslave anyone with psychic abilities).

I highly recommend the series to anyone interested in 'soft' science fiction - although the author has a MA in physics from Harvard. Here's a web address that describes the book:
