What we write....Annie

Annie has been making up stories in her head ever since she was a teenager and wanted to know - what happens next? After many years of tootling around, she finally got serious about writing five years ago and began the journey that has led her to the wonderful Bootcamp compadres that now provide encouragement, sympathy, kicks in the butt and laugh along with her as she fumbles through the process of learning to be a better writer.

Annie has recently wrestled her futuristic action romance into near-submission, now just has to get her courage up to actual submission. She has also started a fantasy trilogy, an half a dozen contemporary romances she might one day revisit. Currently she’s editing a contemporary single title romance set in Florida, and in her spare time is dreaming up a world peopled with angels and warriors, who all need a little more romance in their lives.

April BIAM round up

Wow! What a month! April was BIAM (Book in a Month) month for Bootcamp 101. All up we had 11 Bootcampers and one honourary camper (go Cassandra Pennington!!!) participate. Together we wrote over 112,000 words!!! We had some star achievers, too! Nikki Logan took out the BIAM First Place Pro Award with Melissa James taking second place. In the Semi Pro category newcomer Fiona Gregory took first place and Alison Leake second! An honourable mention was handed out to Anne Newton, who wrote during amazing hardships and inspired us all! (Go Anne-you rock!!!)
First place finishers took home Darrel Lea red heart awards. Chocolate goodness to nourish the writer’s soul!!!
Even those who did not achieve placing are counted as winners, having written more than blank pages and received Bootcamp BIAM bookmarks!!!
